Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data Plural collects when you visit this website, join the beta or use the product, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
On this page
1. Who we are
Plural is operated by Plural Labs, Inc., 1200 Harbor Lane, Suite 300, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA ("Plural", "we", "us"). We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. What we collect
When you visit the website
Our hosting provider records standard server logs: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time of the request. We don't run advertising trackers. Analytics are off unless you allow them in cookie settings.
When you join the beta
Your email address, and if you choose to give them, your workspace name, which AI provider you use (Claude, Codex or your own key), which agents you picked and the plan you are interested in.
When you use Plural
- Account data: name, email address, workspace name and team members you invite.
- Workspace content: the goals, messages, files and outputs in your chats, so the agents can work on them and you can see the history.
- Connection data: the tokens or API keys needed to reach your AI provider and any tools you connect, such as Slack, Notion or GitHub.
- Billing data: for paid plans, your plan, invoices and billing address. Card details are handled by our payment processor, Stripe; we never see the full card number.
- Usage data: which features you use and error reports, so we can keep the service running and fix problems.
3. Why we use it
| Purpose | Data | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|---|
| Running the service you signed up for | Account, workspace, connection data | Performance of a contract |
| Sending your beta invite and service emails | Email address | Performance of a contract; legitimate interest |
| Billing and tax records | Billing data | Contract; legal obligation |
| Security, abuse prevention and debugging | Server logs, usage data | Legitimate interest in a safe, working service |
| Understanding which pages help visitors | Analytics, only if you allow it | Consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
| Product news | Email address | Consent; you can unsubscribe from any email |
We don't sell your personal data, we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we don't use your workspace content to train AI models.
4. Your AI provider
Plural runs on the AI plan or API key you already have, such as Anthropic Claude or OpenAI Codex. When an agent works, the relevant prompts and content are sent to that provider through your own account. The provider processes them under its own terms and privacy policy, which you agreed to with them. Please review those terms, including how the provider handles your data.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with service providers that help us run Plural, under contracts that limit them to processing it on our instructions:
- Hosting: Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, server logs, cookie-free visit counts).
- Analytics: Google LLC, Google Analytics (only if you allow analytics; ad features off).
- Payments: Stripe (paid plans only).
- Email delivery: Postmark (invites and service emails).
- Tools you connect: Slack, Notion, GitHub or others, only when you connect them and only to do what you ask.
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, to protect the rights and safety of our users or of Plural, or as part of a merger or acquisition, in which case we will tell you first.
6. International transfers
Some of our providers process data outside the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, including in the United States. Where they do, we rely on an adequacy decision (such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
7. How long we keep it
- Beta sign-ups: until you join, or 12 months after the beta ends, whichever is sooner.
- Account and workspace data: while your account is open. When you delete a workspace or close your account, we delete it within 30 days, except backups, which roll off within 90 days.
- Billing records: as long as tax law requires, usually 7 to 10 years.
- Server logs: up to 30 days.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your personal data, or send it to another service;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it, including for direct marketing;
- withdraw consent you gave, without affecting what we did before.
California residents have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We don't sell or share personal information as defined by the CCPA.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@plural.tools. We will answer within 30 days. If you are in the EEA or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
9. Cookies and storage
We only use essential browser storage by default. The cookie policy lists each item, and you can change your choice at any time in cookie settings.
10. Children
Plural is not meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will tell you by email or in the product before it takes effect.
